How-to Q

Can anyone tell me how to cut and paste material from, say, a Word document into a post? I tried the usual highlight/copy/ but when I click in the compose window, it will not give me the paste option.

I've got the poster info from the upcoming Saskatchewan youth retreat and thought it would be good to put it here, as well as printing a poster for the church bulletin board.....

I'm not sure about a Mac, but with a PC you can simply copy it from the Word document using the highlight and copy button like you did (or use control-c) and then when you're in the compose window just use control-v but you'd probably better ask a mac user.

(It it's a picture of a poster you can upload the image using the upload button while in compose mode)

don't try to paste it into the "compose" window. switch to the "edit html" window (at the top right of the post-it window) and it will allow you to paste.

I was going to say the same thing, Stacy, about control-v. That has always worked for me on a PC, and I've never used a Mac.

Holding down Control and pressing V (which is the keyboard shortcut for "paste") has often worked even when the paste button on the edit menu (or when I right clicked the field) wasn't available.

Yep. Ctrl-V will work. You can paste into either the "Compose" or "Edit HTML" windows - Compose will try to retain the MS Word formatting (with varying results), while pasting into Edit HTML will strip the document of all formatting. I recommend pasting into the Edit HTML window, then re-inserting any formatting and otherwise tidying up the results using the Compose window.

or you can download blogger for word. this is probably the easiest option, if you don't mind downloading yet another piece of digital matter.

thanks everyone for the tips-- don't want to do any downloads because of my slow connection and slow computer, but I am having total deja vu about the ctrl v option-- probably Fr. Justin told me about it before!
