the truth about Santa Claus

http://www.stnicholascenter.org/
There's some really good stuff on this site, stuff we could even use for our open house. Some good handouts for the kids, about St.Nicholas, Bishop of Myrna. And lots of recipes, crafts, etc.
mmmm...mulled wine. that's what I feel like. snuggled down under a big puffy comforter, with a mug of mulled wine, and Anne playing on the tele.
my favourite Christmas tradition is watching the whole Anne of Green Gables series, on a lazy afternoon, after Christmas day is passed, and there's nothing to rush and hurry and worry about anymore.
"But I'll have to ask you to wait a long time, Anne," said Gilbert sadly. "It will be three years before I'll finish my medical course. And even then there will be no diamond sunbursts and marble halls."
"oh Gil, I don't want sunbursts and marble halls. I just want you... Sunbursts and marble halls may be all very well, but there is more `scope for imagination' without them. And as for the waiting, that doesn't matter. We'll just be happy, waiting and working for each other -- and dreaming. Oh, dreams will be very sweet now."

(what's your favourite Christmas tradition?)

Sitting in the living room staring at the tree for hours and hours.

Yes. The st.nicholasorg site is pretty good; they are looking for digital photos of the two st. nicholas parishes here in Langley so if anyone has any or feels motivated to take one , I am certain they would appreciate it.

Vic, do you want to pick a few things we could use on Saturday.

My favourite customs are similar to Hannah's - I love to get up early in the morning and sit by the Christmas tree and listen to my medieval christmas carols...

Maneshewitz, the sweet kosher wine, is excellent for mulling.
Now there's one for "Spucies in the Kitchen..." or perhaps a sequel... "Sprucies in the Tavern." We've got pictures from our wedding, so I know you are actually a pro behind the bar! I saw you doing those Tom Cruise moves from "Cocktail!"

Favourite Christmas Tradition: lying under the tree with my head sinking into the sheepskin tree skirt and looking up at the lights and decorations, listening to the Messiah and the ringing of the bell decorations. When my cat was still alive, that was an added bonus, because she would purr and play with the lower decorations. This with the smell of cinnamon. All was peace.
