I'm headed your way, y'all...

Apparently the Northwest coast(or as Biss prefers: the Southwest coast) is quite a sight to behold. I've heard, too, that the people are even better. Being that I have a month free I've decided to check this myth out for myself. In other words, St. Hermanites, I'm heading your way for the month of June which means I NEED A PLACE TO STAY. So if there's anyone out there who would be so kind as to put me up for a day or two or five I would be much obliged. And if enough of you can be so kind as to equal a month it will prevent me from sleeping in my car. I promise to be tidy and quiet and I won't cook anything (i.e. I won't burn down your kitchen) but I'll charm you with pleasant conversation in a southern drawl.

Oh... and I'm bringing company who may need a home for a week. Joshua will be making the long roadtrip with me and may need a place to stay, too. He'll only be staying for a week, though. Warning: He's not nearly as tidy and he doesn't come with a southern drawl, but he's twice as charming and he can cook with the best of 'em!

You're both welcome in our home.

Biss...

I DO plan on staying with you, but surely you can't anticipate hosting me for an entire month! Being a hostess can be pretty tiring after a few days. I was trying to spread the burden thin so it might be more joy than burden. I'm glad that you're willing to take on both me and Joshua, though. He'll be comfortable anywhere (he once lived in a tent for an entire semester in the Sangra de Cristo Mountains in Colorado while he was in seminary) so you can put him on the floor, sofa, or where ever.

I'm traveling with those who insist upon challenging my sense of time, scheduling, and general sense of orderliness (pray for me, y'all... I may need to be hospitalized after that many days in a car with the lot of them.. or I may be a saint. Who knows!). In other words, I don't know. I'm leaving Memphis on the 27th so I anticipate arriving somewhere around June 2nd or so.

Hey Stacy,

Once you tire of all the peacefulness in Langley and Chilliwack (ask Vic to take you out to ride my mom's horses while you're there!) you might be needing some city slicker time.

Maybe we could even get you out boating... or kayaking... ? There's lots of ocean!

GREAT IDEAS!! I love the water. I used to teach sailing and canoeing (sp?). I'm planning a kayaking trip for a group of friends as we speak! Of course kayaking in Arkansas can't compare I'm sure. We go to this really lame little river but it's fun and peaceful and good for my friends who have never been camping or kayaking.

Funny story: We go on this trip every year and last year I took five people who had never been kayaking. I was the only one who had ever been so they put me in the one-man and strapped all the food to my kayak with the thinking that I was the least likely to tip over. Well, I didn't get four feet before I completely flipped my kayak and all the food. Lunch was ruined but my friends didn't care. The picture of me flipping my kayak when I'd barely gone a yard was enough to keep them satisfied until dinner. It didn't matter much anyway because later the boys decided to be ornery and they tipped everyone over. Until they saw a snake and then they freaked! Big babies! I lost my sun glasses, hat, and chapstick on that trip... to say nothing for my pride! Anway... I love to be on a boat! I'm not an expert but I do like to be on water.

Now horses... that's another story.

Wait a minute... if I remember correclty, the last time I was in Bellingham, WA in June it was about 65 degrees outside and I was freezing!! I take back the boating idea. Maybe I'll learn to like horses by then but I'm not getting in the water when it's only 65 degrees. You're crazy. It has to be at least 90 degrees before I'll think about it!
