Annunciation

"...the New Year will always now begin upon the twenty-fifth of March when Sauron fell, and when you were brought out of the fire to the King." - JRR Tolkien, The Return of the King
a literary allusion to the truth we celebrate in the tropar:

Today is the beginning of our salvation,
the revelation of the eternal mystery!
The Son of God becomes the Son of the Virgin
as Gabriel announces the coming of Grace.
Together with him let us cry to the Theotokos:
“Rejoice, O Full of Grace,
the Lord is with you.”

Don't forget to bring some food for the meal after the Vesperal Liturgy tonight. Fish is permitted as we celebrate this Great Feast together.
