my kids had a great time.
Thank-you youth leaders.
aka: Magdalen, Dave, Maria, Jesse, Gabe, Sid. (did I miss anyone?)
my kids really look up to you guys.
Thanks for leading by example.
I am grateful that we have so many cool young people in our parish to serve as admirable role models for our kids. For a while I worried that my kids would miss out on the whole 'youth group' experience, that was so integral in the teen years of my faith. Thanks for taking an interest in youth leadership. I sometimes feel that this is a ministry not taken as seriously as other 'liturgical' offices and functions of the church, but it is crucial for our children to have people (other than their parents) in the church whom they can look up to and who can model Christian behaviour for them in a way that is relevant to their lives.
so again, I say
Thank-you.

Ditto. To everything that you just said, ditto.
Yes, thanks a lot to Jesse Gabe and Sit for volunteering on Saturday; you were such a help, and it was a lot of fun having you along. I know some of you had to make sacrafices to be with us, so I really appreciate it.
I'm not sure why it is that youth ministry gets overlooked. Perhaps because Orthodoxy in Canada is still so young, we havn't had several generations to establish ourselves in youth outreach. But it is so extremely important. I've bored you all many times by waxing poetic about my joy at working with the youth, so I won't go into it now. Suffice to say though, I'm with you on this one Vic.
