Schedule of Services for Holy Week

While St. Herman's full schedule of services remains available on our calendar page, for ease of reference, I've also added a schedule of services for Holy Week and Pascha to our main site page.

Thank you Fr. Justin!

Two further reminders:

please remember to fast Wednesday from noon for the PreSanctified, and bring some food to share after the service.

also, in case anyone missed the announcement, you can bring your baskets to be blessed either after Paschal liturgy or after Paschal vespers the next afternoon.

One question...

Is it "egg tempura" or "egg tempera?"

They might mean the same thing but I think it should be tempera and not tempura. Tempura is the deep-fried stuff you eat in Asian restaurants.

The new icons looks fantastic! The Prophet Daniel is great and I'm love the Coptic style icon of Christ feeding the multitudes. Somebody give Seraphim and hug for me. Thanks.

Oops. You're right, of course. Seraphim tried to correct me but then (incorrectly) deferred to my superior learning. >blush<

In my defence, I do like my tempura... I suspect it was my hunger for Japanese food that led me into that particular misspelling! ;-)

Update: I have corrected the misspelling. Sorry, Seraphim! :-)

Thanks, Matushka. I've added the reminders to the schedule post. Any other things that need to be added and/or changed?

Cheryl attributed the "tempura" to all the wonderful Japanese food available out there ... sigh. I understand you're longing for Japanese food ... I miss all the yummy, inexpensive and plentiful lower mainland sushi.

It appears that I have not only traded Vancouver for Ottawa but I've also traded sushi for poutine. It's a bad deal.

Thanks Fr. Justin and Mat. Donna. The Wildemans will be bringing their basket to the Paschal Liturgy. That is a huge part of the Feast for us.
