The hymn states, "..If you persevere in sin, you will perform a useless fast." But, again, "anyone who says he is without sin is a liar and the truth is not in him." Accordingly I think I am doomed to a useless fast as I desire to speak truly and have a sense of the truth in me. What a perplexing 'passion' match :) Can you see your way out?
