May Calendar & newsbulletin this weekend

Correction to the May calendar:

Ascension is on Thursday May 13th, with vesperal liturgy on the eve, Wed. May 12th,

not the previous week as in the calendar distributed last Sunday.

Corrected calendars, as well as the May news bulletin, will be available at church this weekend.

May-Day Strawberry Social!

Dear Ladies and Lady-Friends of St. Herman's!

It is with great pleasure that you are invited to a May-Day Strawberry Social!

Come with a strawberry-inspired treat to enjoy the company of your friends and family.

This event will be hosted at Macrina's house on 68th Avenue in Langley, on Saturday, May 8th from 1:00 pm - 5:30 pm.

(Carpool arrangements may need to be made as parking in the area can be a challenge.)

As this is a ladies event, you are welcome to leave the children with the men-folk, however wee ones are more than welcome (I'll be sure to confine the dogs).

Looking for workshop space

Hello Saint Hermanites and friends. I'm looking for some space to rent for a workshop for personal projects. Does anyone have (or know of) an available garage, large shed, or anything else that might be suitable in the Langley/Aldergrove area? It would need to have a power source and be lockable. Please give me a shout (my number is in the St. Herman's directory) or let me know at church.

The paper calendar and the online calendar are both correct, and these are the dates and times, NOT the times announced last Sunday:

Men's Breakfast is THIS FRIDAY, Apr. 16th, at 7 pm, Dn. Gregory's.

Youth night is FRIDAY APR. 30th 7 pm at Macrina & Peter's.

just a reminder that the calendars for April are avilable at Church, and the same info is in the sidebar here on Spruce Island and on the home page at saintherman.net.

Please take particular note of the men's 'breakfast' Friday night next week, April 16th 7 pm at Dn. Gregory's.

Also you will notice we have a new template for Spruce Island. Blogger is also offering pages like a WordPress blog now...perhaps we will think of a way to use that feature in future. Meanwhile, I have edited the page with the intent of making it clean and easy to read. If anything you are looking for has gone missing or you find anything about the new layout that isn't user-friendly, please let me know. It's easy to change.

Friends.  Might I be so bold to suggest that if you happen to pass your local save on foods today...and you happen to have some extra save on more points are your card... and you happen you see some white tulips might you buy them and bring to the church for me.... either tonight ... or Saturday.  I have pretty much cleaned out my neighbourhood - walnut grove and fort langley.
