I'm sure there are some that have personal memories of him from his time in Vancouver.

Matthew, or maybe it was FrChris, was telling me about Fr Andre being mentioned in the Journals of FrAlexander Schmemmen, as the one who was sent to pick him up from the airport. He explained that his visit & his experience of Vancouver was so warm, because of his hosts and their stories.

It's so beautiful that some of these characters from the stories are still very much in our physical midst. I like the idea of recording some of these memories to keep in our archives--our family history.kimberley francishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11367687222800690815noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18436952.post-1142453032302019262006-03-15T12:03:00.000-08:002006-03-15T12:03:00.000-08:00This Saturday March 18th is a Memorial Saturday, a...This Saturday March 18th is a Memorial Saturday, and we will be having either a panikhida or a trisagion after vespers to remember the departed. We will certainly remember Fr. Victor along with the others. There will be a special sheet on the narthex table for the names we all wish to be remembered at this time.Donna Farleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11884647995104136193noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18436952.post-1142449844710786852006-03-15T11:10:00.000-08:002006-03-15T11:10:00.000-08:00Ah, he was the one who intially began the work at ...Ah, he was the one who intially began the work at UBC in the 80's. I knew his name was a familiar one. Maybe there will be a panekhida for his memory at Holy Resurrection. I will check with the Fouriks.kimberley francishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11367687222800690815noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18436952.post-1142381678162290832006-03-14T16:14:00.000-08:002006-03-14T16:14:00.000-08:00To my knowledge Fr. Victor never served at Edmonton, at least not as an assignment-- the holy trinity SF web page bio does not mention it-- he apparently came to Vancouver after graduating St. Vlad's, and left to serve as dean of the cathedral in SF, where he stayed until his illness.Donna Farleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11884647995104136193noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18436952.post-1142372663925182452006-03-14T13:44:00.000-08:002006-03-14T13:44:00.000-08:00it seems that he was a very special, beautiful pri...it seems that he was a very special, beautiful priest... may God be near his family and church...

http://www.holy-trinity.org/elizabethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00962587884124992942noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18436952.post-1142369754902574992006-03-14T12:55:00.000-08:002006-03-14T12:55:00.000-08:00I think my brother was mentioning him to me just a...I think my brother was mentioning him to me just a few days ago.

Donna, was Fr Victor also serve as priest at the St.Herman's in Edmonton?kimberley francishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11367687222800690815noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18436952.post-1142347066039732882006-03-14T06:37:00.000-08:002006-03-14T06:37:00.000-08:00Memory Eternal...Memory Eternal...elizabethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00962587884124992942noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18436952.post-1142289257569937252006-03-13T14:34:00.000-08:002006-03-13T14:34:00.000-08:00sorry for the formatting problems, I tried to fix ...sorry for the formatting problems, I tried to fix them but I just don't have time to fuss with it any further right now.Donna Farleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11884647995104136193noreply@blogger.com
